Malta is an independent island, which situated in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta consists of an archipelago of seven islands like Malta, Gozo, Kemmuna, and two uninhabited islets. Malta lies south of Sicily, east of Tunisia and north of Libya. Malta's official languages are Maltese and English. Valletta is the capital as well as leading part of Malta.

Malta has been a member state of the European Union since 1st of May 2004. Today it is the smallest European Union country in population as well as in area. Malta is the only nation in the world, whose flags bear a decoration awarded by a foreign country, the British George Cross.
