The Bailiwick of Jersey is a British Crown dependency off the coast of Normandy, France. The island of Jersey comprises the two islands like Minquiers and Fcrehous. It also forms the group of islands, with the Bailiwick of Guernsey, which called Channel Islands. The defense of all these islands is the responsibility of the United Kingdom.
The official languages of Jersey are English and French. Saint Helier is a capital of Jersey.

Pre-history of Jersey: - Before the 9th century, Jersey was under the control of Brittany. Moreover it was totally influenced and settled by Vikings. In 933, the Duke of Normandy, named William Longsword, annexed it to the Duchy of Normandy. In 1066, William the Conqueror, who was the descendant of William Longsword, conquered England. Then after, William the Conqueror became the leader of the Duchy of Normandy and the kingdom of England being governed less than one monarch. King John lost all his territories in mainland Normandy in 1204 to the king of France, but he continued have possession of Jersey, along with Guernsey and the other Channel Islands.
Establishment of New Jersey: - Islanders involved with the New found land fisheries in the 17th century. In recognition for all the help given to him during his exile in Jersey in the 1640s, Charles II gave George Carteret, Bailiff and governor a large grant of land in the American colonies, which called New Jersey and which now become a part of the United States of America.
Occupation of Nazi Germany: - Jersey was occupied by Nazi Germany form 1st of July 1940.
Liberation from Nazi Germany: - Jersey got liberation from Nazi Germany on 9th of May 1945, at the end of Second World War.
Literature: - Printing only arrived in Jersey in the 1780s, but the Island supported a multitude of regular publications in French and English throughout the 19th century, in which poetry most usually topical and satirical flourished John Everett Millais, Eliner Glyn and Waee are artistic figures of Jersey. Victor Hugo is a well-known French writer, who lived in Jersey.
Art: - Some Neolithic carvings are the earliest works of artistic character to be found in Jersey. Only fragmentary wall paintings remain from the rich mediaeval artistic heritage. Jersey is famous for the Battle of Flowers, a carnival held annually since 1902.
Media: - The Jersey Evening Post is the only newspaper of Jersey, which is very popular in the people of Jersey. Local news and official notices are printed in this newspaper. BBC Radio Jersey provides a radio service and television news. Channel Television is a regional. Channel 103 is c popular local radio station in Jersey.
Food: - Mussels, oysters, lobster and crabs are popular seafood of the people of Jersey. Milk, cream and butter are very rich but they are mostly used in insular cooking. Jersey Royal potatoes are the local variety of new potato and the island is well known for its crop of small potatoes. The people eat potatoes in a different ways, they also eat them simply boiled and served with butter. Apples were an important crop. Bourdelots are apple dumplings, but the most typical speciality is black butter, which made by apples, cider and spices.
Cabbage loaf, Jersey wonders, fliottes, bean crock, nettle soup and vraic buns are other traditional dishes of Jersey.
Location: - Jersey located in the English Channel. It is about 22.5 kilometers from the Contention Peninsula in Normandy, France and about 161 kilometers south of Great Britain.

The main aspects of Jersey's economy are financial services, tourism, electronic commerce and agriculture.
Financial Services: - Financial Services and banking is the heart of Jersey's economy. It contributes approximately half of the Island's economy.
