Description : Red with the Three Legs of Man emblem (Trinacria), in the center; the three legs are joined at the thigh and bent at the knee; in order to have the toes pointing clockwise on both sides of the flag, a two-sided emblem is used.

Pre-History: - The Isle of Man became a Viking kingdom from circa AD 700 to AD 900. Godred Crovan established the Norse kingdom of Man and the Isles in 1079. In 1266, Norway's king Magnus gave up Isles to Scotland as dictated in the Treaty of Perth. The Isle of Man came under English control in the 14th century and to the British crown in 1765.
Isle's Parliament: - The Island has the oldest continuous parliament, which called the Tynwald. This parliament was founded in 979 AD. The annual ceremonial meeting was held at Tynwald Hill, on Tynwold Day in the month of July, continues the celebration of the Island's national day. The main aim of this occasion is to read the titles and to give a detailed description of the new laws.
Island's Symbol: - The Island's symbol has been the ancient Triskelion: three bent legs, each with a spur, joined at the thigh. The Triskelion does not seen to have an official definition- Government publications, currency, flags, the tourist authority and others all use different variants. The three legs relate directly to the island's motto- Quocunque Jeceris Stab it, which translates to whithersoever you throw it will stand. The meaning of this motto is to develop the qualities of stability and robustness. Many schools on the island have adapted the motto to promote perseverance and hare work.
Scottish Rule: - The Norse royal family lived in the island for few years, after the death of Magnus III and the beginning of Scottish rule. The family's emigration came after the final attempt on the Manx part at restoring the old Sudreyar dynasty, in the 1275 uprising against the scots. This revolt failed disastrously, ending in the deaths of hundreds of rebels. The Manx defeated in the Battle of Ronaldsway and its last Norse King, Godred Maguasson was died in this battle.

The culture of the Isle of Man is strongly influenced by its Celtic and Norse origins. Literature: - The literature of the Isle of Man is in the Gaelic Manx language. A very famous Manx expression is "Traa Dy Liooar", which means, "time enough", which represents a stereotypical view of the Manx attitude to life.
Sports: - International Sport: - The Isle of Man shall host the IV Commonwealth youth Games in 2011. The Island started the Island Games in 1985 and hosted them once again in 2001. Rugby, Cammag, Chess, Cricket, Cycling, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Motorcycle racing etc. are popular sports of the Isle of Man.

Location: - The Isle of Man is a group o islands. It is situated in the Irish sea, approximately equidistant between England, Scotland and Ireland.
Climate: - The Island has mostly wet and cool climate.
Area: - The total area of the island is approximately 572 square kilometers. It is about 48 kilometers long and between 13 and 24 kilometers in breadth.
Landscape: - Isle of Man's north and south territories are full with hills. Only the extreme north is flat, which consisting mainly of deposit built up by deposition from glacial advances from western Scotland during colder times.
Mountains: - Isle of Man has only one mountain, which is higher than 2000 feet. Snaefelt is about 2036 feet High Mountain.
Population: - According to the 2005 estimate, Isle of Man's total population was about 76,538. Its population density was about 131.2 persons per square km.
Capital: - Douglas is a capital as well as the largest city of Isle of Man.

Tax: - The Isle of Man is a low tax economy with income tax rates of 10% and 18% and 0% of corporate tax.
Key Sectors: - Banking, manufacturing and tourism are the key sectors of the Isle of Man's economy. Banking and other financial services contribute the great balk of GDP. The government of the Isle of Man offers incentives to high-technology companies and financial institutions to locate on the Island. So the opportunities of employment in high-income industries have been increased.
Other Sources of Income: - Agriculture and fishing are the other sources of income, which were the main key economic sectors before some time. Film industry is also other source of income in island. The Manx government promotes island locations for making films by contributing to the production costs.

Achievements: - Since 1999, the Isle of Man has received electricity through the world's longest submarine. AC cable, the 90 KV Isle of Man to England Interconnected and from a natural gas power station in Dougles, an oil power station in peel and a small hydroelectric power station in Sulby Glen.
