Guernsey is a island. Like Jersey, the Bailwick of Guernsey is also a British crown dependency in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. The island of Guernsey comprises Alderney, Sark, Herm, Jethou, Brecqhou, Burhou and other islets. The island of Guernsey is divided into ten parishes (districts), which are Castel, Forest, and St. Andrew, St. Martin, St. Peter Port, St Pierre du Bois, St. Sampson, St Saviour, Torteval and Vale. English and French are official languages of Guernsey.

Pre-History: - Rising sea levels changed Guernsey into the small-ended part of a peninsula jutting out into the emergent English Channel until about 6000 BC, when Guernsey and the other high lands were cut off from continental Europe becoming islands. At that time, Neolithic farmers settled the coasts and created some monuments, which called dolmens and menhirs. The island of Guernsey contain three sculpted menhirs of great archaeological interest, the dotmen known as L Autel du Dehus.
Occupation of Britons: - Then after, the Britons occupied the Lenur Islands comprising Guernsey an dJersey. At that time the Island of Guernsey was under the control of the Duchyu of Brittany in 933.Then Duchy of Brittany were annexed bye the Duchy of Normandy. In the Islands, Elizabeth II's traditional title as head of state is duke of Normandy
Parliament: - During the English Civil War, Guernsey sided with Parliament, while Jersey remained Royalist. Guernsey's decision was mainly related to the higher proportion of Caluininsts and other Reformed churches, as well as Charles-I's refusal to take up the case of some Guernsey seamen who had been captured by the Barbary corsairs. The allegiance was not total, however there were a few Royalist uprisings in the Southwest of the island, while Castle Cornet was occupied by the then Governor, Sir Peter Osborne and Royalist troops.
17th and 18th Century: - During the 17th and 18th centuries, Guernsey ship owners and sea captains exploited their proximity to mainland Europe, so they applying for letters of Marquee and trading their trading vessels into privateers.
19th century: - The time of 19th century, was the prosperous time of the island, due to tits success in the global maritime trade and stone industry. William Le Lachur a Guemfeyman established the Costa Rican Coffee trade with Europe.
First World War: - During the First World War, more than 3,000 island men served in the British Expeditionary Force and about 1,000 island men served in the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry regiment.
Second World War: - During the Second World War, German troops, occupied the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Moreover, it became most strengthen place during Second World War, with German defenses dotted all around the coast and German additions to castle cornet.

Literature: - Victor Hugo is a famous writer of Guernsey, who wrote some of his best-known works while exile in Guernsey, including Les Miserables. The other famous writer of Guernsey is GB Edwards. 'The Book of Ebenezer Le Page' is his most famous novel. This book also contains a wealth of insights into life in Guernsey during the 20th century. Guernsey people are traditionally nicknamed donkeys or ones by Jersey people. The Guernsey Lily Nerine sarniensis is used as a symbol of the island.
Sports: - Guernsey participates in the Island Games. In sporting events in which Guernsey doses not have international representation, when the British Home Nations are competing separately, islanders that do have high athletic skill may choose to compete for any of the Home Nations.

Location: - Guernsey is located 30 miles west of France's Normandy coast and 75 miles south of Weymouth in England and lies in the Gulf of St. Molo.

Regions: - Guernsey contains two main geographical regions:
1. The Haut Pas, a high southern plateau.
2. The Bas Pas, a low-lying and sandy northern region.
Capital: - St. Peter Port is a capital of Guernsey.
Climate: - The climate of Guernsey is temperate with mild winters and cool summers. February is the coldest month, when it has snowed and August and September are the hottest months, at time the temperatures are generally around 79 F. the island enjoys glorious sunrises and sunsets throughout most of the year.
